The slight 'English' looking cafe, with a little garden tuckled behind the busy street around Telawi, caught my attention when I passed by one morning. Curious as to what it serve, went to check out the very next day.
As it was raining, the restaurant was rather empty when we arrived. This place was just opened few months ago.
Cafe Barbera positioned itself as providing the magic of Italy for the coffee connoisseur. They uses Espresso as base for its blend of coffee sold here.
I chose the Cappuccino Freddo - a blend of Italian Espresso with cold milk foam. A light coffee, which suited me just right.
Cappuccino Freddo. Price-RM9.50
The other more interesting coffee ordered by Aloy was Roma. It was a combination of Italian Espresso, cinnamon syrup, chocolate sauce and chilled milk foam. Nice..
Being here for the 1st time, we were puzzled when we were told that the appetizer is soup served with bread, as there were other soup items within the menu. We went for the cheesy prawn and we were pleasantly surprised with what was served as the appetizer. The lightly toasted french loaf dipped in this creamy cheesy base, with prawn.. ooooh la la... It was seriously good.
The smoked salmon fettucine was also good. Just the right thickness of the cooking cream.
Overall it was a satisfying dinner. This was all that we had the other night, and all the food has its standard.
Cafe Barbera apart from serving food, also sells coffee machine. Price ranges from RM10k - RM29K. Wow...
This is how Cafe Barbera looks from the outside. Looks like a restaurant you'll spot around Camerons... Like the comfy atmosphere inside the cafe. Even if one doesn't come here for food, this is quite a nice place to hangout over a cuppa coffee.
